The P4P King Canelo Alvarez holds the reputation of being one of the best boxers of this generation, as he already boasts of 58 fights in his 15-year-long career. He has been super active in his professional ride and aged 30, the Mexican superstar is also a four-division world champion.
Meanwhile, his sole career loss came against Floyd Mayweather, another pound-for-pound great whom people also bill as the greatest boxer ever. That said, many consider Mayweather to be the only antidote to Canelo’s dominance. However, super-featherweight southpaw, Tevin Farmer feels they are similar.
He recently connected with Fight Hub TV and revealed what separates Alvarez from the other boxers and puts him on the same scale as the unbeaten Floyd Mayweather.

“The thing with Canelo versus other fighters is this like, he is like Floyd (Mayweather) right? You will hardly see him have a off night. His team did a hell of a job, he hardly have a off night. I have just seen Billy Joe Saunders have the off-nights. A very very good fighter, Billy Joe Saunders,” said Farmer.

Farmer also predicted an outcome to Canelo Alvarez’s next fight against WBO super middleweight champion, Billy Joe Saunders, in May. He hailed Saunders, but ultimately backed the Mexican sensation.
Tevin Farmer added, “If he (Saunders) come with his best game and Canelo comes with his best game. I still fell like Canelo wins. But, all in all, yeah, I gotta go to Canelo.”
But, is it really fair to claim Alvarez and Mayweather as similar? Especially when Canelo lost the fight in 2013.

After the clash, Alvarez has demanded a re-match several times, claiming to change the outcome. He believes to have hit his prime a few years ago and has been adamant about facing Mayweather for the second time. However, this may not happen as Mayweather has retired from the professional ride.
Mayweather, 44, is open to accepting only exhibition bouts now and is no longer active in the pro circuit. Nevertheless, Alvarez is still an active world champion at 168 lbs. Moreover, he wishes to expand his reign and become undisputed, thereby achieving something Floyd Mayweather did not in his lengthy career.
