It is happening, isn’t it? Over the past few weeks, rumors of a potential fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford have been rampant on the internet. On Saturday, boxing insider Rick Glaser shared another substantial update stating that the talks are moving forward smoothly, but there has been no official announcement yet. However, last night in London, images emerged of Canelo Alvarez having a meeting with His Excellency Turki Alalshikh on the sidelines of the Ring Magazine Awards. In a welcome surprise, Canelo himself revealed, “There’s always a chance there… We’re here to make the best deals, and there’s always the chance.”
It looks like we are not far away from an official announcement as ‘Bud’ soon after took to his ‘X’ to indirectly hint at the fight. The 41-0 fighter sent a warning out, and it has grabbed the attention of the boxing world.

Terence Crawford took to his ‘X’ and wrote, “Remember what you said about me…..😉.” As for who he meant it for, Crawford alone knows. He may be referring to the old comment made by Canelo on the enormous size difference between the duo. In the past, the unified super middleweight champion has denied facing ‘Bud’ due to the weight difference between them.

While the Omaha native has won titles in four different divisions and is one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world currently, there is a 14 lbs difference between him and Canelo. Not only Canelo Alvarez but other professional fighters like David Benavidez and Demetrius Andrade have also expressed similar concerns.
On the other hand, it may also have been a veiled jab at his critics who have been doubting him and his ability to take on Canelo Alvarez in his dominion at 168 lbs. Regardless, we can at least be happy that the discussions are underway.
If the revelation from Canelo wasn’t enough, ‘Bud’ also uploaded a story on his Instagram profile showing that he was in London at the same time as Canelo Alvarez and His Excellency Turki Alalshikh. It further indicates that the fight is almost on.
Fans completely lost their mind as soon as Crawford sent out the warning. They understood his reference and started showing their excitement about the fight. However, in contrast to the opinions of experts, fans were directly preferring Terence Crawford in this battle.
Canelo Alvarez is the underdog?
A fan commented, “When you knock him tf out..His fans will say he was too old..🚬😮💨,” claiming that Crawford will beat Canelo and it will create a huge uproar amongst the boxing fans. We rarely see the Guadalajara native as an underdog in any fight. But it looks like fans are with Crawford this time around.

Another fan who prefers Crawford in this clash predicted the whole fight and aftermath of it. He wrote, “Crawford wins 8/4 decision vs Canelo. There will be accusations of robbery and excuses regarding age. Remember he was too young when he fought Floyd and will be called too old when (if) he fights Bud.” The fan claimed that Canelo Alvarez’s fans would find a new excuse if the unified super middleweight champion lost to ‘Bud’ just like they did with his loss against Floyd Mayweather.
Another fan wrote, “Terence Crawford is about to show the world another level,” declaring a war from the 37-year-old’s side. His fans believe that Crawford will move past the weight hurdle and will prove everyone wrong.
Another fan, who was still wrapping his head around this news, wrote, “Is it done? Are we really getting Canelo V Crawford?” as he was trying to believe it was finally happening. Fans have been waiting for this fight for so long that no one will completely believe the rumors until an official announcement arrives.
