Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford rank among the most elite boxing sensations of the modern era. With their consistency and impeccable skill sets, both of them have reached the peak of their games, and eventually the p4p list too. However, Alvarez holds a slight edge over Crawford with his experience and that’s one prime reason why he’s the number one fighter on the p4p list.
Crawford, who holds the fourth spot on the list, isn’t really bothered about Alvarez’s rank. In his recent interaction with DAZN Boxing, ‘Bud’ opened up on these rankings and he took a jibe at Canelo Alvarez.
He said, “Never had any doubt, any questions about why I’m performing the way I’m performing… I don’t have the trouble of saying, ‘It’s in the meat.’ What meat you eating? But Canelo’s great.” (h/t Michael Benson)

Although Crawford termed Canelo as a great, he took a slight dig at the Mexican star with the word “meat”. This statement referred to the p4p king’s positive test for clenbuterol that came in 2018. Canelo reasoned that he consumed meat in Mexico and that’s why he tested positive.
Alvarez received immense backlash for the same, but with time, things went back in place for the Mexican star.
