Terence Crawford is popping up all over the headlines recently because of a mixup with his and Kendrick Lamar’s name during the UFC 306 event in Las Vegas. However, it appears there’s more going on in Crawford’s life. You see, the former two-division undisputed champion was spotted on Instagram with pop star and popular singer Rihanna. 

Even so, the UFC’s blunder, which may or may not have cost some people their jobs, remains fresh in the public’s memory. What exactly happened during the UFC 306? Well, His Excellency Turki Alalshaikh and ‘Bud’ Crawford were seated in the arena during the Noche event, when ‘Bud’ was supposed to call out former super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez. But disaster struck.

What was Terence Crawford wearing? 

The production team of the UFC, tasked with displaying the names of the celebrities in the arena when the camera pans to them, messed up badly. Instead of Crawford’s name, they addressed him as Kendrick Lamar, which has since become a meme all over the internet and people won’t stop calling ‘Bud’ Lamar. This seems to have carried over to a post Terence Crawford shared on Instagram with none other than Rihanna. The Nebraska puncher wrote in the caption, “Shoutout to my girl @badgalriri she said she don’t appreciate yall calling me @kendricklamar. Y’all better show some respect for the #P4P KING‼️”

Alongside this, ‘Bud’ also shared some pictures of them and a clip where they can be seen talking to each other. Despite the plea to stop calling him Lamar, fans, as you would guess, amped up the jokes as they piled on much more. 

Was Crawford blushing in pictures with Rihanna?

Seeing the overwhelmingly popular duo together, the post quickly started making the rounds on the social media platform. In no time, it had thousands of comments. One user thought ‘Bud’ might have a crush on the singer, sarcastically speculating on what he told Rihanna in the clip. “Bud said, “no offense but I would knockout Rocky ASAP’ 😂,” the user wrote. The comment is essentially a play on words, referencing Rihanna’s partner, A$AP Rocky.

The next user brought up Kendrick Lamar, taking a jab at ‘Bud.’ The user wrote, “we got kendrick & rhianna together before GTA6.” Notably, GTA 6, or Grand Theft Auto 6, is a highly anticipated video game set to release in the fall of 2025, making it one of the most eagerly awaited titles in recent years.

Another user took shots at Crawford’s outfit, claiming he is allowed to do whatever he wants. “Not you wearing a Nike sweatsuit 😂period when you champ you do what you want 😂💪🏾,” the user commented. After all, Crawford is known for his skills in the ring, not in the wardrobe.

Someone else thought Crawford was infatuated with Rihanna during this meeting. “How you blushing bro lol 😂 @tbudcrawford,” the user wrote. It’s worth noting that while Terence Crawford isn’t married, he is frequently linked to Alindra Person, with whom he has six children.

And again, this user brought up Kendrick Lamar one more time. The user remarked, “Kendrick and riri in the lad🔥.” Interestingly, Crawford himself told TMZ Sports that he found the whole thing funny. 

That said, despite not being scheduled to fight anytime soon, Terence Crawford became the talk of the town because of a small goof-up by the UFC, which doesn’t seem to be going out of fashion anytime soon. Regardless, what did you think of Crawford running into Rihana?
