Who does one of the best male boxers think his female counterparts are? Well, in an analytical answer, pound-for-pound, number 1, Terence Crawford has given his picks for his two best women boxers.

Last year, after defeating Errol Spence Jr., in a historic fight, ‘Bud’ made history. He became the first fighter to emerge undisputed in two weight classes ever since the four-belt era began. Since then, as he awaits his next fight in the ring, potentially a rematch with ‘The Truth’, he has continued to make ripples for his achievements. With so much to boast about, when asked about his take on the female boxing league, he had quite a bit to say.

Earlier today, at the Monterrey Boxing Academy in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, the Omaha, Nebraska-based fighter, was given a special recognition for his accomplishments. At the event, in a presser, he was asked his take on the leading ladies in the boxing realm. While noting Claressa Shields as his number 1, he counted Amanda Serrano as the second.

He explained, “My favourite woman boxer to watch is Claressa Shields. She’s a two-time undisputed world champion, she’s a mean individual, always calling for the biggest fights in the world. Amanda Serrano is another. I think those are the two top girls that’s ever done it.”

On March 2nd, in her homeland, Peurto Rico, Serrano’s fight against her German opponent, Nina Meinke, was called off moments before it was to take place. Her unified championship defence was not allowed to go ahead after she developed an eye infection. GWOAT Shields, on the other hand, fought an MMA-format fight, a few days ago, winning it against Kelsey De Santis.

“GWOAT,” reiterates Bud

Toward the end of February, ‘T-rex’ entered the octagon after a long time. In her first fight in the MMA format, she fought a veteran, De Santis. Despite her break from the fighting format and the age difference, she won via SD. As she shared a recap of the fight on her Instagram, Bud rooted the post on his stories. In a simple gesture, he marked his respect for his female contemporary. He wrote, “GWOAT!!!!”
