In a surprising turn of events, Benavidez Jr. revealed previously unknown details about a sparring session with none other than Errol Spence Jr. Previously, ‘The Truth’ suffered his first-ever career loss at the hands of Terence Crawford.

So, Benavidez’s revelation came as a bigger surprise for the fans everywhere. In a recent interview with ES News, the Phoenix resident indulged in some seriously surprising details about his unknown sparring session with Spence. What did he say? Here’s a hint – Benavidez claimed Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford isn’t the only person who knocked ‘The Truth’ Spence Jr. However, that’s not the end of it. Benavidez claims he can prove it!

While speaking to Elie Seckbach from ES News, the 31-year-old super welterweight revealed that he has a video of him sparring with Spence. “I got a video from a while back of me sparring [Errol] Spence,” said ‘Merciless.’ When probed further about it by Seckbach, Benavidez revealed he has not shared the video yet. “I haven’t posted that video. It’s a good video,” Benavidez told Seckbach. 

Moreover, later in the interview, the California native hinted at knocking out Errol Spence Jr. in a sparring match between them. “Terence Crawford is not the only one who dropped Spence. I will tell you that much,” said Benavidez. It’s worth mentioning that ‘Bud’ Crawford knocked down Spence three times during their fight before the referee stopped the one-sided affair. What’s more, Spence has activated his rematch clause, and Crawford is here for it.

After the dominant win over Spence Jr., Crawford became the first male boxer to attain all major titles in two different weight divisions. On the other hand, Spence’s boxing career spiraled down from that point on. So, Spence thought of redeeming himself by fighting Crawford again. However, what does ‘Bud’ Crawford say about it?

According to a recent tweet from Michael Benson, editor for talkSport, Crawford is ready to take on the challenge. “We signed to do a rematch, and that’s what it is. I don’t have a date, but I know that next,” said Crawford. He went on to praise Spence for having a champion’s mentality for wanting a rematch. “I take my hat off to him. It was always respect,” said Crawford.
