Speaking on the ESPN broadcast of Richard Commey vs. Jackson Marinez, Lopez answered questions about the other champions He said, “What about ‘em? They’re famous on the internet. I’m real life hot. They gotta get their weight up. They’re not fighting anybody. All of them.”
He accused Haney of fighting weaker opposition and said, “Devin Haney, half of his career has been in Mexico. He’s been fighting cab drivers.”

What is the situation of the lightweight division surrounding Teofimo Lopez?
Despite being the most exciting divisions right now, it appears there will be no high-profile match-ups at lightweight anytime soon. This is a far cry from the situation a few months ago when fans expected the champions to fight each other.
Instead, Lopez is now close to a fight against George Kambosos Jr, his mandatory challenger for the IBF belt, while Haney is looking for a bout against Jorge Linares. Davis recently claimed he may not fight at all this year, and WBC mandatory, Ryan Garcia, has teased a fight against boxing legend, Manny Pacquiao.
