Teofimo Lopez reveals his bizarre strategy for his fight against George Kambosos Jr. The two fighters will take each other on for the title of ‘unified’ lightweight champion of the world. The current champion Teofimo Lopez become undisputed back in 2020 when he beat former champion Vasiliy Lomachenko.
After Triller delayed the fight 5 times citing various reasons, the rights to the fight will now go to Match room Boxing. In the purse bid for the fight back in February, Match room boxing put the second-highest bid, and hence they will now have the rights to the fight. Ahead of their fight, Teofimo Lopez reveals his bizarre strategy that he will use when he finally faces Kambosos Jr.

“One round, I know I should make him suffer and like hold the pain but I just….. It’s gonna be a one-hitter quitter. I’ll probably pick him up like I’m crazy like that. I’ll probably pick the man up, and have the ref count him again and then do it again and then pick him up and just keep doing it till the round ends, but they’ll finish the fight by then.” said Lopez when an interviewer asked him how many rounds the fight would last for.

Teofimo ‘The Takeover’ Lopez seems very confident going into this fight and has had enough and more time to prepare for it as well. His opponent, Kambosos Jr also has had more than half a year to prepare for this fight, so it will be an interesting watch for boxing fans.

Triller defaulted on their obligations after trying to change the date of the fight yet again. The two fighters have now split the $1.2 million purse deposit between themselves. Matchroom officially took over the responsibilities. Matchroom has not yet announced the date of the fight.

The IBF on Wednesday found Triller in default of its contract obligation to stage the Teofimo Lopez-George Kambosos undisputed lightweight championship fight on Oct. 4 and awarded the rights to the bout to Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing.

This fight will be a very important fight for the lightweight division and former champion Vasiliy ‘The Matrix’ Lomachenko who will look to get his title shot again. Teofimo made it very clear that he would not fight Lomachenko again.
