The rivalry between Teofimo Lopez and Devin Haney is reaching new levels every day. Both of them don’t miss a single opportunity to mock each other. The undefeated boxers want to collide, but there doesn’t seem to be anything concrete as of yet.
Recently, Lopez was in an interview with Fight Hype. Here he talked about getting certified as the WBC franchise and regular champion. That said, he took this chance to clap back at his rival yet again.
“Sorry Devin, you got played, son. You got played son, son you got played, you heard?” said ‘The Takeover’.

In this interview, he showcased his newly received WBC belts and certificates as proof of his statements. Lopez mocked his foe as a Gmail champion because Haney got elevated as the WBC champion via an email from the organization back when he won.
With Lopez receiving the recent WBC belt status, it seems Haney’s title is in jeopardy.
Devin Haney and Teofimo Lopez to contend for the ultimate WBC title?
Haney defended his WBC title back in November 2020. He maintained a substantial run in the lightweight roster to keep himself relevant at the top. However, losing his hard-earned belt might be absolutely staggering for him. But, ‘The Dream’ will like to wait and get his hands on Lopez and the belt again.

With Lopez bagging the WBC title, he is now the undisputed stalwart at 135 pounds. Moreover, the champion will have to confront some rugged undefeated contenders to save his straps. George Kambosos Jr and Ryan Garcia are waiting to challenge him.
If Haney earns a shot at Lopez soon, it will not just be for the WBC title, but predominantly for the undisputed lightweight championship. It will go down as one of the most watch-worthy fights in the lightweight landscape, as both the boxers will be hungry to write their own legacy here.
