Lopez and Haney have been going at each other ever since rumors of their fight broke out. ‘The Takeover’, who has to either fight Haney or George Kambosos Jr next, gave an interview that instigated their latest verbal battle.

Speaking to FightHype.com, Lopez explained why Haney lost out on a shot at Lomachenko before himself. He said, “If there’s anybody to blame for the opportunity, blame himself. Because he missed that opportunity. He could have had it before I did.”
‘The Takeover’ then added, “He could have fought Lomachenko before I did. But he overpriced himself, you know. I got shortchanged on it. I did. But I knew what was at task.”
These comments showed that the 23-year-old felt that his compatriot bothered more about the money than the value of the fight.
He also suggested that since he took the fight, he is now the ‘A-side’ in the division. However, this was bound to draw a response from ‘The Dream’.

Reports suggest the two will settle their differences in the ring only if the Kambosos Jr fight falls through. Moreover, things like this outside the ring will only add to the potential fight. It promises to be a fiery affair if they are to meet in the ring.
