The upcoming match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson has divided the boxing world like nothing before. While some fans cheered the return of the legendary boxer to the squared circle after so many years, most fans worry about his health.
The match was initially supposed to take place on July 15th but was postponed as Tyson suffered an untimely ulcer flare-up. Even though the doctors have given him the green light and the Brooklyn native has vouched for his health, concerns among fans are still predominant. Being 58 years old just adds to that. Recently, notjustboxing shared an old video on Instagram that featured the debut and final match of Scot England, who made headlines for competing in a boxing match at 58 years of age, the same age as Mike Tyson. The clip has raised concerns regarding the upcoming fight in Texas.

The clip re-shared on Instagram featured December 5, 2023, when England became the oldest individual to make a professional boxing debut setting a Guinness world record. He faced 23-year-old Jashawn Hunter, who had a 0-6 record at that time.

The fight ended as soon as it started as Hunter knocked down England in just five seconds via a single punch. The 58-year-old tried to get back up, but the referee ended the fight after 47 seconds. It resulted in a TKO victory for Hunter, his first overall. England never competed in a professional match after that and has a record of 0-1 etched to his name.
Boxing showtimes credited Scor England for taking such a risk and giving his dream a go. But also highlighted the fact that “This fight sparked controversy in the boxing world.” After the fight, many fans wondered how this fight got approved and stated that it “should never have been licensed.” While the other half stated that England’s “body and his choice if he wants to fight.”

Warning signs for Mike Tyson
A fan wrote “Just a glimpse of whats about to happen this weekend lol,” stating that Jake Paul will also knock Mike Tyson out like that very quickly. Paul is 27 years old and will certainly be quicker than Tyson and it is a possibility that he might even pull this off if luck favors him.
Another fan wrote, “DO NOT! compare him to Tyson 😂😂,” focusing on the complete opposite career that England and Tyson share. England made his debut at 58 and had very little experience of boxing before that. Meanwhile, Mike Tyson, known as the Baddest Man On The Planet, has already conquered the world.
People consider him one of the best boxers to ever live, and he is surely far superior to an amateur who just started boxing.

Another user, fed up with these exhibitions, and out-of-retirement matches, wrote, “Even though jake will get the infinity hate, i do hope he does not hold back against tyson. These old fighters need to accept that its over. Father time has never lost a minute. If tyson needs money for unpaid taxes or something he should just start a charity boxing event or shiit do onlyfans boxing lessons.”
According to the fan, boxing is a young sport and all these old athletes coming out of retirement to compete should stop. Well, he is not entirely right as we can take the example of Bernard Hopkins, who was a WBA super lightweight champion at 49 and defied the age factor. He further stated that all these fights are for money, which has been a common notion amongst fandom. But the legendary boxer has denied this claim every time and has stated that he wants to challenge himself.
Another user wrote, “He’s not 58 he looked 70,” while noticing the shape of Scot England. According to the user, England was in such bad shape that he looked like a 70-year-old and that is why he lost.
