Canelo Alvarez has only been put down twice in his career. But a recent back-and-forth may have revealed something that may increase that number by one more. Alvarez is currently focused on his upcoming fight against Jermell Charlo. In the fight, the Mexican boxer will be defending his super middleweight title against the Lafayette-born Charlo. This will be Alvarez’s third defense of his Super middleweight title against Charlo, who is the undisputed champion in the super welterweight division.

In one of the recent social media banter, $30 million worth, J Balvin revealed something that may surprise a lot of fans. As it turns out, there was a third time when Canelo Alvarez was defeated, but apparently, it never got on his record. So, what’s the story here?

In less than 24 hours, Alvarez would be facing Jermell Charlo in front of 20,000 people at the T-Mobile Arena. So, before that, he made an Instagram Post, where he flaunted his physique with toned abs and strong biceps. In the comments section, J Balvin talked about the results of their boxing fight that took place behind the scenes. These kinds of jokes are part of their normal banter. However, this time, it revealed a little more than was expected.

Alvarez has a great relationship with J Balvin, so much so that back in 2021, the Colombian singer even walked him out for his bout against Avni Yildirim. In fact, Balvin was also the one who pushed Alvarez to seek professional help for his mental health. Well, in Alvarez’s comments section, Balvin wrote, “Tell them I beat you in a private fight. I love you.” After this, Alvarez responded with the same energy, keeping the joke alive. He wrote, “I told you not to tell that one.

Such banter is usual for these two, as they keep on poking each other out in public several times. Still, nobody can imagine a world where these two could be seen in a boxing fight. More so, because in the last, Balvin has claimed that Alvarez is afraid of him and avoids fighting him.

Irrespective of this hilarious back-and-forth, Canelo cares a lot about his singer-friend, J Balvin. Even during his musical beef with Residente, he never left his side and always stood in his support. Still, a couple of years ago, Balvin revealed to the public how the undisputed super middleweight champion didn’t want anything to do with the singer’s prowess.

Balvin made an Instagram post where he shared an image of him and Alvarez on FaceTime. In the caption, he wrote, “Until I learned that nothing is expected of anyone, but love for family is demonstrated with actions.” Even there, he expressed his love for the boxer. But then he added, “P.S. He sent me a kiss because I told him ‘Either you behave, or I‘ll end up in the ring,’ and he’s obviously scared of me and well … NORMAL.
