As the fight progressed into the fourth, Cheeseman showed better precision and quality. And this resulted in the biggest moment of the fight. Cheeseman rocked Metcalf with a solid right hand in the second minute of the fourth and it appeared as though ‘The Big Cheese’ would finish the fight then and there.

However, ‘Kid Shamrock’ survived the barrage from Cheeseman and tried to fight his way back in the fifth round. He showed grit and bravery and arguably won the next three rounds. Thus, he grew into the fight. So much so, he hurt Cheeseman in the last minute of the seventh and had him surviving till the bell.
