Now that the possibility of a fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk in April comes to an unprecedented standstill, Deontay Wilder shows interest in facing the Ukrainian boxer inside the boxing ring. According to Shelly Finkel, since Fury never genuinely wanted to fight Usyk, ‘The Gypsy King’ overpriced himself to the extent of discouraging Usyk and his team. In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, Finkel expressed Wilder’s willingness to square off against Usyk next in boxing. “If the Oleksandr Usyk fight is available, Deontay Wilder will take it in a heartbeat“, he declared confidently.

Although Finkel, Wilder’s manager admitted that he lacked details concerning the negotiations between Fury and Usyk, he is of the view that Fury overpriced himself deliberately knowing the fight won’t take place in April. “I don’t want to go into details as all negotiations were confidential but I will tell you one thing when a fighter doesn’t want to fight he overprices himself knowing that the fight won’t happen“, said Finkel concerning ‘The Gypsy King’.

According to Finkel, one must conduct a side-by-side analysis of the “statistics on pay-per-view with Tyson vs Chisora and Chisora vs. Usyk“. That shall better reveal the face of boxing. In addition, Finkel stressed that while Fury held a single belt, Usyk flexed three titles in boxing.
