Streaming giant Netflix was supposed to enter the boxing fight streaming market on July 20th. The highly anticipated Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight was supposed to be their entry into the sports broadcasting game. However, due to Tyson’s recent ulcer flare-up, the fight was put on hold. However, now the fight has got a new date and fans couldn’t be more excited about it.

During the promotion leading up to the fight, both Paul and Tyson were throwing barbs at each other. Nevertheless, there was a sense of camaraderie and respect between them as well. Since the new date has been announced, Tyson put out a short video online sending a chilling warning to Paul. The clip of Tyson threatening Jake Paul while revealing the new date for the fight signals the arrival of Iron Mike who once sent chills down the spines of many heavyweight contenders. “Different date, same fate! I’ma knockout Jake Paul,” said Iron Mike menacingly. The caption on the clip read: “Jake’s new wake date. Nov. 15th.” Following that, there has been an interesting advancement in this saga.

It is a known fact to the world that Hollywood superstar Sylvester Stallone is a massive fan of boxing. His debut movie, and the most successful movie franchise of his career, ‘Rocky’, is proof of that. Interestingly, following Tyson’s warning video to Paul, Stallone’s merchandise platform backed Tyson for the fight, while cautioning Jake Paul of what would happen on fight night. The comment on Tyson’s video by ‘Sly Stallone Shop’ read, “TKOIRON MIKE There’s only one champ in that ring and one who has heart.” The reference to “TKO” signals that Stallone’s corner is strongly backing Iron Mike in his upcoming fight.

Following the announcement of the new date, which is November 15th, ‘The Problem Child’ stated in a social media post, “New date, same place, same fate.” Mike Tyson’s video response was in direct reference to Paul’s X post.

Mike Tyson was popularly known as the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ during his heyday. The former unified world heavyweight champion had been a supporter of Paul even before they decided to fight each other. Tyson mentioned several times that he respected Paul as the young kid who was bringing new eyes to the sport. However, with the new date, the intensity has increased as the fight day approaches.

With the fight date shifted to November, both fighters get a fair amount of time to prepare for the bout. Although Tyson is one of the most vicious fighters of all time, the 57-year-old has to go against a 27-year-old guy. This might turn out to be a big challenge for Tyson. But who knows, he is Mike Tyson, he can punish anyone. 

Mike Tyson’s recent medical emergency threatened the possibility of the fight even happening. After the tests, the former champ was asked to rest and do minimal training. And obviously, not going inside the boxing ring to fight. However, with a new date, he gets a lot of time to recover and even a lot of time to train for that matter. Both fighters have their strong and weak suits, only time will tell how it plays out to be. Note down the day and the place; AT&T Stadium in Texas, on November 15th.
