On the 6th of April, Richardson Hitchins will lock horns with Gustavo Daniel Lemos in Las Vegas. The winner of this match will go ahead to face Subriel Matias for the Puerto Rican boxer’s IBF Super-Lightweight title. On the other hand, only 13 days after Hitchins vs. Daniel Lemos, Devin Haney will share the ring with Ryan Garcia with his WBC Super-Lightweight title on the line in Brooklyn, New York.
In this context, as the dates for both fights draw near, Richardson Hitchins, 17-0-0, called out ‘The Dream’. In doing so, he even belittled Haney’s latest achievements in the sport as a professional boxer. Well, here is what the 26-year-old said.

Last year before Devin Haney debuted in the Super-Lightweight division to fight Regis Prograis, Richardson Hitchins’ trainer Lenny Wilson declared that Hitchins vs. Haney would be “a great fight down the line.” In addition, Wilson said that due to his jab, IQ, patience, and accuracy, Hitchins would beat Haney in the ring. Now, ahead of his IBF Super-Lightweight title eliminator against Gustavo Daniel Lemos, Hitchins himself called out Haney, belittling Devin’s achievements in the sport.

“He fought Kambosos, he caught a lick. Everybody knew Kambosos was a lick. Fought Lomachenko in a sweat. In a fight that was super close. If he was a true champion, he would have given Lomachenko his rematch. That’s what he should have did,” said Richardson Hitchinson about Devin Haney.

“But, he ran up and fought Regis Prograis. Everybody know Regis is a bum. Everybody know that. Devin knows that; people that been in the ring [with] Regis [for] sparring knows that. I know that,” he added. Along these lines, Hitchins challenged Haney to a fight. “And now when he’s at 140, he has like a great relationship with Eddie. If I’m hating, if I’m this, if I’m all that, why not come shut me up?” Hitchins concluded.
In this context, it must be mentioned that Hitchins lately branded Garcia vs. Haney as “a clown show.” As a result, in his reply, Haney called Hitchins “mad” and “broke“.
