But lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez doesn’t truly resonate with the idea of YouTube boxing. He shared his opinions pertaining to this matter in his recent tweet.
‘The Takeover’ took indirect shots at Logan Paul and his brother Jake Paul for ‘diminishing’ the sport of boxing.
He tweeted, “Stop this YouTuber boxing. Stop diminishing the sport that we’ve worked so hard for! S*** not sweet.”

Lopez fumed over the idea of YouTube boxing as he feels that such fights/fighters are demeaning the sport to a mammoth extent, which is disrespectful for professionals like him.

Lopez’s tweets hinted at Logan and Jake Paul, who have recently become the talk of the town. Both of them have less than five boxing fights and wins combined. But the YouTuber pair has gained extreme attention from fans and fighters around the world.
Prominently, Jake Paul caught every boxing enthusiast’s eye after his post-fight call-out to MMA stars in November.
Teofimo Lopez is a firm believer in giving his blood and sweat to the sport. His fiery tweet accrued a lot of attention from fans, a huge chunk of them actually seconded his thought.

‘Takeover’ Lopez is the most debatable lightweight star of boxing. He is fighting at his sheer prime now, maintaining an undefeated record. Lopez is considerably young and has a vast career ahead of him. Even with such a decorated run in boxing, he feels all those colossal YouTube fights take massive attention off real boxers.

Over the past one year, exhibition/YouTube fights have gained unprecedented popularity. Some of these fights actually went down to become more famous than matchups between long time competitors.
However, these fights fail to give a much-deserving recognition to fighters like him, who fully dedicate themselves to the sport for a lifetime.
