Shakur Stevenson, the rising star in boxing, boasts titles in various weight classes and an undefeated record. Despite a recent unanimous decision victory against Edwin De Los Santos, the match lacked its usual excitement, with Stevenson relying heavily on his defensive skills. In talks for a showdown with Devin Haney, negotiations faced hurdles over the purse split. Then shifting focus to Vasyl Lomachenko, that matchup too failed to materialize. So what is the new lightweight champion up to now?

It seems that Stevenson is currently involved in a bit of a feud with influencer boxer Deen The Great. Deen, whose real name is Nurideen Shahid Shabazz, has admitted to being a fan of the boxer before but is now at odds with his former idol. Interestingly, this has led to Stevenson revealing to his fans what he thinks about the entire escapade.

Shakur Stevenson recently took to social media to vent out his frustration and anger against the 23-year-old YouTuber. In a bombshell, he shared the screenshot of Deen’s message to him on Instagram. The screengrab of these stories were soon shared by Happy Punch on Twitter. The first message from Deen to Stevenson, which was from March 18, 2018, read, “I’m next big dawg.” The other message was asking him to check his DM, “Check dm champ.” All of which showed no replies going out from Stevenson.

In a furious message, Stevenson wrote, “This is how clouted out n****s be… N****s just be capping on my name Way too much nowadays…” He went on to add, “They say anything to get a reaction from me. Lil Bro I never said nun of them things to u stop lying for clout.”

Moreover, in another story, he not only pointed out the absurdity of the situation but also expressed his dislike of the current generation. He hit out, saying, “Our generation f**d up n****s will say any and everything to get views and clicks… Stay focused out here young kings. We up next.”

In his message, Stevenson was asking the young generation to focus on their goals rather than indulging in the clamor of fame and attention. At the moment, he too is focused on getting his next fight. However, does he have an opponent in mind for his next bout?

Shakur Stevenson remains open for a rematch

The typically dominant, Stevenson struggled against De Los Santos, who disrupted his usual defensive style in their last match on November 17, last year. Despite the lack of excitement, Stevenson acknowledged De Los Santos’ skills, stating, “He’s world champion caliber with really good skills and has a great future.” Rather than dwelling on his own shortcomings, he credited De Los Santos for providing a tough challenge. The fight marked the first time Stevenson wasn’t perceived as dominant by the judges, narrowly securing the win.

While whispers of a rematch circulate, Stevenson initially dismissed the idea, emphasizing his decisive victory. However, after reconsideration, he expressed a willingness for a rematch in the future, recognizing that the initial bout was De Los Santos’ best chance at victory, stating, “I’m for sure willing to give him a rematch down the line, but that night was his best shot at beating me and he blew it.”
