The long-awaited bout between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz is finally over. Although a lot of boxing enthusiasts and experts had predicted a knockout victory, the result couldn’t be far from that. Personalities like Devin Haney, KSI, and Viddal Riley all had predicted an early knockout and it even looked like that would be the case during some moments during the fight. However, Paul’s opponent was none other than Nate Diaz, who has taken worse beatings throughout his career and didn’t go down. He proved his extraordinary endurance during the bout as he made Paul’s punches look like nothing.

Even though the YouTuber turned boxer had control over the fight from the start, he couldn’t K.O. the MMA fighter. In the earlier rounds, Diaz’s punches appeared sloppy and Paul was on the offensive. The Stockton native appeared to be banking on his ability to take damage, as he didn’t put much focus on defending himself in the beginning. According to Shawn Porter, Diaz’s camp was looking to go for a knockout in the later rounds. However, this led to Paul lending a punch on his temple and he ended up stumbling down to the canvas.

As pointed out by the announcer, it is always good to take punches on the gloves and never smart to take hits to the head. Though Diaz did start to come back in the later rounds. However, it was clear to everyone that ‘the Problem Child’ would win the bout if the MMA veteran couldn’t knock him out. Paul showed his composure throughout the bout and didn’t play Diaz’s game. In the end, the fight went the distance and Paul was hailed as the winner of the bout via unanimous decision. It appears that the American rapper has lost the $250,000 that he put on Diaz just like KSI predicted.

Jake Paul fails to deliver a knockout: Fans left disappointed

After the bout, Paul and Diaz both expressed their desire for an MMA rematch. However, there is even less doubt about the outcome of that bout. Moreover, he also shared his desire to go for a rematch against Tommy Fury in case that fight cannot be made. However, the fans appeared to have been disappointed with his performance. Many pointed out that the influencer should just retire from the sport. One such fan, Anthony Rizzo wrote, “Time for Jake Paul to retire, 10 rounds wit a 40 year old is nasty work”.

Another fan DHAKA also expressed how let-down he felt with the outcome. He wrote, “Jake Paul sorry bruh, this man never fights actual credible opponents and has lost to the one he has. Imma still watch though, so he’s still winning!”.

Meanwhile, Gen Y Retiree jokingly remarked, “Can somebody call Colby Covington or Israel Adesanya to finally beat Jake Paul?”

Jeremy added, “I was wrong about this, even though Jake Paul likely won the scorecard. Diaz’s stamina has no boundaries. If they ran an MMA fight Diaz would smoke him.” He highlighted his misjudgment of Diaz in a previous Tweet.

Jarrod Thurman was infuriated at the announcers writing, “Jesus Christ these announcers are pissing me off. Jake Paul did not look as good as they’re acting like he did. This guy is not a boxer. Start fighting boxers and stop f*****g around with former MMA fighters on their late 30s and early 40s.”

Another fan, Ibañez, V remarked, “We have to stop giving credit to Jake for fight MMA guys 10 yrs past their prime. All credibility was gone when Jake lost to Fury. For all who ‘bought’ the fight just spent money on a sparing session. Money maker but no legitimate result.”
