Trying to set his monopoly in boxing, ‘The Golden Boy’ Oscar De La Hoya is a household name in the scene. Winning ten world titles in six different divisions, he is one of the best to pick the gloves up. Beyond his boxing career, he created ‘Golden Boy Promotions‘. His promotions found great success, hosting many amazing fighters. But time waits for none.

Even the greatest of fighters have had to give up on the sport because of their age. Oscar De La Hoya is no different. Yet, it seems that De La Hoya has not let his age affect his skills. BoxingKingdom shared a video, from a while ago, of him shadowboxing and hitting pads, and fans were thoroughly impressed.

De La Hoya’s skills go unquestioned as he holds a record of 39-6, losing only to big names like Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather. His footwork is known throughout the audience and it is for good reason. As if winning the gold in the Olympics was not enough, he has countless other achievements under his belt.

The post, whose caption read: “Oscar De La Hoya showing insane speed and power at 53!” showcased impressive footwork, even considering his age. It featured De La Hoya’s warm-up routine, including various foot and head movements. Fans in the comment section expressed mixed reactions to the training footage.

The comments on the tweet showed many opinions from countless fans. “Still my favorite to watch. His style is both technical & entertaining. And he always fought the best,” said one fan complimenting De La Hoya’s style and prowess.

Another pointed out, “Oscar is 51 and this video was like from 5 yrs ago- he was probably around 46 here,” correcting the information stated by Boxing Kingdom.

One more fan said, ““Still beats ryan,” comparing the current De La Hoya to the Ryan Garcia amid their ongoing beef.

Similarly, another user said, “Hold on lemme find out he still got it, but fr the irony is this is the man Ryan should model his game after,” stating how Garcia should take his style of boxing from De La Hoya.
