It’s been years since the boxing world was set ablaze by the $600 million showdown between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. Yet, the embers of that fiery bout still glow hot, especially when the word “rematch” is whispered. They fought on May 2, 2015, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. In this bout, ‘Pretty Boy’ emerged victorious by a unanimous decision. Furthermore, Judge Dave Moretti scored the fight 118-110, and judges Burt Clements and Glenn Feldman scored 116-112. But why do we hear the term “rematch” related to the fight eight years later?
This is because of a recently resurfaced video featuring Manny Pacquiao. In this clip, we see Pac-Man making an undaunted claim. According to him, Money is “scared as death” to fight him again. This assertion was swift to garner the attention of the boxing arena. Moreover, they have left a detailed analysis of their stance, mostly defending the prowess of Floyd.

Just when you thought the Mayweather-Pacquiao saga had reached its final chapter, a new twist emerged. A video from RYCK Esports TV, posted on Facebook, featured Manny Pacquiao openly stating that Floyd Mayweather is “scared to death” of a rematch. The video has already garnered over 200K views and sparked a frenzy among fans.
Starting the conversation, a fan accused Pacquiao of making excuses. He said, “He could’ve had his rematch if him and Freddie Roach hadn’t whined about Pacmans shoulder as an excuse for losing the fight. That’s when Mayweather said a rematch was off the table and I don’t blame him. If Pacman loses the rematch what excuse would he use then? He should’ve said what Spence said after losing to Crawford that the better man won tonight and then Mayweather would’ve had no excuse not to agree to a rematch. Even if Pacman said he thought he won that would’ve been better than making excuses.”
Next, another fan dismissed the whole debate about it labeling it dense. The comment read, “Stupid post. Pac had his chance, he has trained for ages to fight floyd and when he had his chance he got whooped by an older floyd. Pretty obvious pacman is second to Floyd.” Resonating with the emotions of the same, a user said, “This conversation should be dead at this point. Pacman lost, time to move on”

Then, another fan said, “Not scared just retired if he needed money or something than maybe he would but he’s not in any debt.”
To sum up the debate, a fan detailed Floyd’s way of dealing with rematches. The comment said, “Floyd never gave rematches! I think he only did it once! A fighter will learn a lot in the first fight and many have come back to avenge from a loss in the first fight! Floyd knows this and has avoided taking that chance to protect his zero loss record! The pay per veiw for a rematch with Manny would have been huge and we all know Floyd loves money! So why didn’t he do it? Now is too late!”
