“Sometimes the Pride Would Come Up and He’d Be Like…”: Michael Jackson’s Son Leaves Mike Tyson in Laughter With “Humble” Revelation

Mike Tyson is a name that stands out when it comes to staying relevant long after hanging up his boxing gloves. His podcast “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson”  discusses any topic under the sun, as Iron Mike invites distinguished guests to have candid conversations. This time, he invited somebody unexpected. He is none other than Prince Jackson. The son of the late iconic megastar Michael Jackson. MJ is a name that needs no introduction. 

He has won 13 Grammy Awards and earned 8 Grammys for his album “Thriller” alone. Furthermore, he entered the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice. Not only this, he also received the Grammy Legend Award and Lifetime Achievement Award. The Brit Awards honored him six times. Moreover, Guinness World Records named him the “Most Successful Entertainer of All Time.” Thus, he became ‘the King of Pop’. So, recently, in the podcast, Prince Jackson revealed how his father, MJ, used to brag about his achievements in an adorable way. 

What did Prince reveal to Mike Tyson about his father ‘The King of Pop’?

Prince Jackson mentions that while his father, Michael Jackson, tried to be humble, he did sometimes express pride in his achievements, stating he was the greatest. He said, “He wanted to be humble about it but sometimes the pride would come up and he’d be like your daddy was the greatest…” When Prince revealed this, he left Mike in splits. It was as though he was resonating with Michael’s bragging.

Next, DJ Whoo Kid talked about how Michael Jackson seemed conservative and reserved in public.  Then, the conversation touched upon Michael Jackson’s lack of awareness about Shakira. Furthermore, it suggests that he might have been somewhat isolated or focused on his own world. Moreover, Prince said that his father was always learning and had diverse interests. He wanted to venture into filmmaking after music and had an extensive book collection on exotic animals, including llamas.

Overall, Prince paints a picture of Michael Jackson as a complex individual. MJ’s  personality balanced humility and pride. Although he was constantly learning, he was a bit isolated from mainstream culture. However, one thing that stands ingrained is his musical legacy. Even to date, his name is written in golden letters in pop culture.

As Prince highlighted, his father’s songs were famous in places where English wasn’t a first language. Indeed, Iron Mike’s involvement in this conversation heightens its impact of it.
