The mantle had fallen on Shakur Stevenson and Frank Martin to settle the arguments for the WBC Lightweight belt. Reportedly, the two sides even agreed on the terms for the bout, leading to the cancellation of the WBC purse proposal. However, as news filters in, the match may not occur. Now, a parallel report appears to be grabbing headlines. The post displays an alleged tweet from Stevenson that was later deleted.
So ‘Sugar’ reportedly says, “Franky say if he not getting 50/50 wit me, he ain’t fighting….he say 50/50 or nun lmao.” The veracity of the tweet remains to be confirmed. However, it was enough to incense followers, most of whom found it ludicrous for Stevenson to have made such demands (if he did) while he rejected a lowball offer from Devin Haney.

The following user straightaway took up the Devin Haney match split issue. So, he said Shakur Stevenson rejected Haney’s low offer (25%). Frank Martin followed suit and dismissed the fight offer until the purse was split equally. Hence, if ‘Sugar’ claims that ‘The Ghost’ is backing out, then going by the logic, does it mean he evaded a fight with Haney?
Same thing he turned down Devin over, right .. so was he ducking Haney?

Sharing the last user’s thoughts, this fan highlighted that Shakur Stevenson sought a 50/50 split with Devin Haney. Hence, going by his reasoning, Martin’s seeking a similar share is a fair ask, the fan posited.

According to the following fan, given his bitter experience dealing with Devin Haney, Shakur Stevenson should step forward and accept the deal. He should follow Errol Spence Jr.‘s example, who, after years of discussions, finally, along with Terence Crawford, made the July 29 fight happen.
@ShakurStevenson should give him that after the things he just went thru with devin … now let’s see if @ShakurStevenson a real one like Errol did for his man bud

The following user fails to understand the problem of dividing the money equally. They are both without titles in the Lightweight division. Stevenson declined Haney’s offer the first time because the percentage wasn’t high enough for him. However, he never saw it as a sign of weakness. But when Martin echoed similar sentiments, ‘Sugar’ called him a ‘duck.’
I don’t get it…why not give him 50/50? Both have no titles at lightweight
First, Shakur turns down Haney’s offer because the percentage was too low for him, but to him that isn’t ducking.
Now Frank is saying the same thing and Shakur is calling him a duck?!AND HE DELETED THE… pic.twitter.com/xh5ZkiXYQs

According to the following fan, Shakur Stevenson always puts himself in a better light than he is. He has barely fought any boxers of note. How is he better than Frank Martin if he has never fought on pay-per-view, in a central arena, and for a significant sum of money?
Shakur always rating himself high where he is not who has shakur fought ? He never been on ppv never been on big arenas never been on big money fights so how is he above frank? He is the one ducking people by outpricing himself

Soon after defending his undisputed title from Vasyl Lomachenko, Devin Haney expressed a desire to move up a division. He reportedly offered a fight to Shakur Stevenson, with a 75/25 split in his favor. The latter, who moved to the Lightweight division this year, rejected it.
