Benson broke the news on his X handle as he revealed that Davis would defend his WBA lightweight regular title against undefeated prospect Frank Martin on June 15 in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Benavidez moves up to 175 to pursue titles as he takes on former champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk for the interim light heavyweight title. A win will propel him into a fight for the undisputed title crown against the winner of Dmitry Bivol vs. Artur Beterbiev.

For Martin, 18-0, it is the opportunity to make his name. He specified his intent to FightHubTV, “It is one of my opportunities for me to wake the world up.” Meanwhile, for Gvozdyk, at 20-1, this is a redemption opportunity, as his only loss came against Beterbiev, and a win will inch him closer to his revenge fight. With many storylines colliding, what do the fans think about the card? The boxing fans put forth their candid views.

Fans react to the announced PBC card

A fan called Davis and Benavidez “generational talents,” and said, “Damn Tank Davis and David Benavidez on the same card! Generational talents. This about to be the best card of all time.”

A user predicted a KO win for Davis and Benavidez. Notably, Davis has a KO ratio of 93%, and for Benavidez, it stands at 87. They declared, “Tank & Mexician Monster winning by KO.”

Someone threw a jab at Ryan Garcia, who has recently relied on social media shenanigans to promote his event against Devin Haney. They wrote, “Tank gonna show yall what a real sellout event looks like not fake ones and he not gonna have to put on a mentally ill performance promo to do it stay tuned #davisVsMartin.”

A fan expressed their confusion over the main and co-main events.

A comment pointed out the need to have Benavidez sell out the PPV. Notably, Davis sold out more than 1 million PPV buys when he fought ‘KingRy’. The comment read, “They needed to put a Mexican on the card in order to sell PPV’s lol Gervonta ain’t a draw without Ryan.”

Another fan believed it was petty to make the official statement on the day Devin Haney vs. Ryan Garcia is taking place. It was spoiling the Golden Boy Promotions. So, they responded, “So petty announcing it on fight day.”
