In a fresh interview with Seconds Out, the head of Sky Sports Boxing Development, Adam Smith, talked about his admiration for Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
Upon being asked why Fury had called him, Smith said, “No, I think it was more we wanted to do an interview with him. I think it was more we sort of said. I mean look, I’ve always admired Tyson Fury hugely, you know. He’s worked at Sky before. You know it’s… and you know we took a step back. He’s promoted by Frank Warren, by Bob Arum. You know he’s not our fighter.

“But of course you know, we’re interested in him. He’s a character, it’s an amazing story, what he’s gone through. You know we’re not sitting here as the AJ [Joshua] fan club. Of course, Anthony Joshua has been a brilliant ambassador for us.
“He represents Sky, he represents Matchroom, you know, he’s a hugely important part of the whole process we’ve had since London 2012. And I would say that maybe the epicenter of all of it,” he added.
Smith continued the conversation by mentioning how many eyes Anthony Joshua (23-1, 21 KOs) has brought to the sport. Along with this, he also talked about Tyson Fury’s (31-0, 21 KOs) contribution to boxing, and his inspirational comeback.
What are the chances of a Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua clash?
Joshua and Fury are two of the most popular and fan-favorite fighters, not just in the heavyweight division but in the whole of boxing. And while Joshua is more of a reserved, humble, and polite personality, his counterpart Fury is the polar opposite, being brash and outspoken in every manner.
For now, the two have fights locked in, with Joshua facing IBF mandatory Kubrat Pulev in December. And Fury preparing for a trilogy bout with former WBC champ Deontay Wilder, which also is most likely to take place in December this year.
