Caleb Plant and Canelo Alvarez went to war on November 6. The two fighters gave it their all inside the ring on a historic night in the fight capital of the world Las Vegas, Nevada. The packed arena witnessed the crowning of a new super-middleweight king and a very wholesome moment between the Mexican and the American.
A distraught Caleb Plant stood in the corner as Canelo came over to talk to him. Despite the animosity and bad blood leading up to the fight, both fighters had a newfound respect for each other after going to war for 11 rounds straight. Canelo approached Plant saying, “You’re a good fighter”. The two then embraced as they spoke to each other.

“I’m sad,” Plant said as Canelo reassured him. “Don’t be ashamed, you’re a great fighter man and I’m sorry for everything. But at the end of the day, we are men, and we are human. I’m sorry for everything.” Canelo said as they embraced again. Plant then spoke about the incident that lead to their scuffle on stage during the press conference.

“When I said “Mother****”, I would never talk about your mother because I don’t have a mother. My mom died.” Canelo, keen to bury the hatchet, replied, “You have a really good and beautiful family. You are my family.” As Eddy Reynoso also came to console Plant, the former IBF world champion displayed his warrior mentality.
“I wanted to keep fighting.” Canelo acknowledged his heart and said, “Yeah, I know, you are a warrior my friend. It’s okay, it’s done.
