Jake Paul is gearing up to meet Hasim Rahman Jr in a grudge contest on August 6th. The fight will air on premium cable network SHOWTIME live from Madison Square Garden, New York. Ahead of this upcoming bout, Showtime’s head Stephen Espinoza has found one common thing between Paul’s career and the former five-weight division champ Floyd Mayweather‘s career.
He shared it while speaking on Chris Mannix’s podcast.

“I understand it’s not everybody’s cup of tea. A lot of people are out there rooting for Jake which is fine as well. Floyd Mayweather made a great career out of that for a long, long time. It’s a different genre of boxing. It is positive, it is expanding the audience”, Espinoza said.
The social media personality collaborated with Showtime in the previous year for a multi-fight deal. Since then he has been to two highly exciting contests. The first one with former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and the next a rematch against the same fighter in December 2021. Paul secured victory in both bouts.
The PPV sale was amazing. Therefore, Espinoza has declared to air probable clashes of the Ohio-based boxer against big names such as UFC star Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, and the boxing legend Mike Tyson.

“Our goal is to be in business with Jake long term. If that’s a Diaz fight, an Anderson Silva fight, if it’s a Mike Tyson fight, if it’s other professional boxers….As long as he’s doing credible boxing competitions, competitive fights, legitimate stuff that people have interest in we’d love to be”, Espinoza added.
What’s new Jake Paul is going to offer in the upcoming clash?
In the upcoming bout, the 5-0 boxer is going to take a shot at an established boxer Rahman Jr, the son of former heavyweight champion for the first time in his career. ‘The Problem Child’ has intentionally taken this risk to show his critics, who underestimate his hard work and skills.
