Last year, Dimitry Bivol became the second boxer ever to hand a defeat to the Undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez. The fight pushed his name into a different level of stardom as the pound-for-pound king lost via unanimous decision against the Russian light heavyweight. Later on, Alvarez revealed that he was not at his full strength when he fought Bivol because of a hand injury.

Canelo tried to get a rematch against Bivol at the same weight as their last fight. However, Bivol saw no reason to fight the Mexican Idol at 175 and wanted to fight him in the super middleweight category. In the end, the fight failed to materialize and Alvarez fought against Jermell Charlo instead. Interestingly, Terence Crawford showed his interest in facing the Mexican champ, even though Alvarez didn’t share similar sentiments. Here’s what Bivol had to say about ‘Bud’.
