Claressa Shields has indeed etched her name in the annals of boxing. The 24-year-old star is eyeing a superfight with Cecilia Braekhus, another undisputed female champ. Furthermore, she wants to arrange a pay-per-view fight soon. Shields and Braekhus fight in different weight classes. Yet, Shields hopes they can meet at 154 pounds for a showdown. She aims to prove who the best pound-for-pound fighter is. However, Shields doesn’t limit her ambition to female fighters; she believes she can also beat many male fighters.
This blatant claim has shocked many with a bold verbal jab in boxing. She claims she can beat male fighters, even naming off Gennady Golovkin as a potential opponent. Is this bravery or delusion? Let’s dig in. In an interview, she said she could beat male fighters, including GGG. Despite her impressive record, this claim has fans questioning her judgment.
