On his podcast, ThePorterWayPod,’ the 35-year-old did not shy away from tagging his fight against Berto as an exhausting one. He revealed that Berto happened to have a training session with his dad. So, he felt the need to weigh in on his fight against Berto. Porter unveiled that in the middle of that bout, he was fighting aggressively to get the stoppage. To the extent that his own father, who was in his corner was left confused. However, his dad asked him to fight in a controlled manner and wait for the right moment to be the aggressor. Reflecting on the same, he stated, “This was one of the most exhausting fights I had. One of the rounds, might have been sixth, sixth or seventh round, I went at Berto, Maybe even an entire minute. The last minute of the round. I went at him. Stayed on him. My dad looked at me and said ‘Why did you go so hard over there’ I said I thought I had it. That’s my mindset. He said alright let’s make sure we got ‘em before we do all that.”

He added, “But my mindset was if I gotta throw this avalanche, it’s coming. If I gotta do it the next round then I’mma do it the next round.”
