Amid the saga of Ryan Garcia and his PED abuse, fingers keep pointing to one man, Victor Conte. Not only the American boxer himself, but his family has also opened fire on the man they believe is behind the whole ostarine debacle. Lisa Garcia has some choice words for the former BALCO chief after she came across Shane Mosley‘s recent conjecture, in which the culprit is again Conte.
Mosley, 52, recently sat down with FightHubTV and shed light on the ‘KingRy’ controversy that took the boxing world by storm and plunged the latter’s career into darkness. He believed that there was trickery involved, “where they messed Ryan up.” Pointing out the need for Garcia to shed weight before the Devin Haney fight, the former world champion then asserted that the authorities, including VADA, due to their ties with SNAC, possibly pushed him to take stuff that ultimately cost him his reputation along with a year-long ban.
Venting out his anger, ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley said, “I think that there could be some kind of thing. Like you know, tricked him… And it’s all with VADA. VADA is with SNAC and all that stuff. And then he takes it the last minute to lose weight and then all of sudden, he’s popped. That’s what makes me question it. And it makes me angry [to] know that Victor Conte is behind it. Because he was behind what I did. So, it’s kind of personal to me.”

Sharing the same clip on her Instagram handle, the matriarch of the Garcia household, Lisa Garcia, threw shade at Conte, who has claimed to have trained a crop of world champions and aided them with his BALCO supplements as well. One of whom also included Shane Mosley. She wrote in the caption of her Instagram story, “A “Trainer” with over 20 years experience training world champs don’t know a Vada Certified Supplement?”
Notably, Haney continues to be associated with Conte through SNAC, a supplement brand founded by the latter. Before SNAC, it was BALCO. The fans could recall how it seized headlines in 2002 when federal agencies found it selling illegal substances to top athletes. But if they jog their memories, they will remember that Mosely also found himself in the line of fire.

Parallels of Ryan Garcia and Shane Mosley: connected with Victor Conte
Mosley, at 49-10-1, had come out voluntarily and confessed that he had unknowingly taken BALCO supplements, which had the energy-boosting drug EPO. What’s more? The Lynwood native did it before his high-voltage fight with Oscar De La Hoya. While he bagged a win, the accusations took away the luster of his big win. In the same interview with FightHypeTv, he declared, “Victor Conte ruined my career. I hope the younger generation can learn from my mistakes.”
According to Shane Mosley, Ryan Garcia, at 24-1, is the latest victim of Conte’s ploy. However, much more digging will have to be done if Mosley’s claims are to be confirmed. Until then, they are merely conjecture. It might be some time before Ryan Garcia steps inside the ring again. But he has taken up other things, such as training his younger brother, Sean after his recent loss.
