All the die-hard fans must have heaved a sigh of relief as they finally reached the month of April. Finally, one of the year’s most significant bouts is lined up toward the month’s last week. Though it waxed and waned through the months, the fight is finally on its home stretch. On an equal note, the belligerents, Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia, have been playing their part as manifested by their heated press conferences.
But what about the pundits and lay followers? How do they feel about the momentous match? Most are clear about their favorite to win. But many think the fight will be one of the most tightly contested.
From Baltimore, Maryland, Gervonta Davis enjoys a slight edge among the fans and the oddsmakers. After all, the southpaw, with a well-earned reputation for hard-hitting early stoppages, has yet to face a defeat in his career, with roughly 93% of his wins coming through knockouts.

But does that mean Californian Ryan Garcia would present himself as a complete walkover?
Garcia’s speed could make a difference, according to Shane Mosley
Among those who caution against such a train of thought is the former world champion ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley. Active between 1993 to 2016, the Lynwood, California-born orthodox boxer had a record of forty-nine wins against ten losses. Some of his most famous duels happened against Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Canelo Alvarez, and Miguel Cotto.
Given his expertise in three weight classes, Lightweight, Welterweight, and Light Middleweight, Mosley is easily in a good position to alert ‘Tank’ Davis. @fighthub uploaded a short video that had him, along with another former champion Clarence’ Bones’ Adams, talking about the fight.
Mosley first added, “The problem I think that Tank runs into is the height of Ryan Garcia and his left hook; they’re both…..left hands, so you know me and Bones both said that they both it’s who’s gonna land the left hand first….“

Soon ‘Bones’ Adams joined, “Whoever hits you first, basically what I’m taking I’m taking right now. Ryan’s power is real, yeah, and the speed is real, and the left hand, and to me, a left hook, is the Kryptonite for a southpaw.“
Mosley then explained that since his left hand would be near Davis, Garcia could go for a left hook. The former could step back and even chamber a counterpunch in defense. But unfortunately, the sheer speed of the Californian’s left hook would render such a move ineffective.
Two of the most well-known and skillful boxers of our time will clash on April 22 in Nevada’s T Mobile Arena. Indeed, the fight has got everyone talking around.
