In the aftermath of Terence Crawford‘s triumph over Errol Spence Jr. in July last year, he swiftly ascended the pound-for-pound rankings, unifying the division. However, setbacks emerged as he was stripped of his IBF welterweight title. The title was then handed over to Jaron ‘Ennis’ Boots, the IBF mandatory challenger. After his loss, Errol Spence Jr. triggered a rematch clause and the plans for a rematch soon began. However, the plans soon fizzled out.
Errol Spence Jr. underwent an emergency cataract surgery earlier this month, which delayed a potential February rematch for the two. This left Crawford without a confirmed adversary. In the meantime, Ennis also remained without an adversary, leaving the fans in anticipation of his next fight. Since both now remain with opponents, fans eagerly anticipate a fight between the two. Boots, meanwhile, is already at the gym preparing for his next bout.

Even though a lot of fans remain unconvinced by his recent achievement, Boots appeared to be focused on making a statement in the ring through his performance.
