Does Shakur Stevenson's bold bet show confidence or reckless arrogance? What's your take?

George Kambosos Jr. isn’t pulling his punches. The former IBO lightweight champion just got into an online scuffle with the WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson. And do you know what the best part is? All this began because of a harmless question from a fan who could not have imagined what he just started. You see, earlier today a fan hopped on X to pose a simple question.

Who would win in a fight between Stevenson’s last opponent Artem Harutyunyan, and George Kambosos Jr., who is coming off a loss against Vasyl Lomachenko in May? Nothing too wild, right? But here’s the kicker, folks!

Stevenson quickly jumped in to share his thoughts on the fight, stating, “I’ll bet 100k on Artem.” This prompted a lengthy retort from ‘Ferocious’ Jr., who implied Harutyunyan doesn’t stand a chance against him. However, he alleged Stevenson would favor his last opponent “to make himself the attention seeker wh**e.” He further added that Vasyl Lomachenko, Teofimo Lopez, and Devin Haney would easily beat Stevenson if they ever fought. As you might have guessed, Stevenson didn’t take too kindly to this response from Kambosos.

Stevenson quickly answered back, “Bro u let Maxi Hughes beat u.” It’s worth mentioning that Kambosos defeated Maxi Hughes via majority decision last year. Regardless, Stevenson continued his attack, claiming, “I also picked Loma to stop u.. U are DOG S**T!!!! U are the worst undisputed of all time u are a** cheeks u should quit boxing.”

However, things didn’t end here. Their back and forth would eventually lead to ‘The Emperor’ sharing Stevenson’s prior controversial videos.

George Kambosos Jr. and Shakur Stevenson claim to live rent-free in each other’s heads

In a later tweet, Stevenson once again took to X, writing, “I’m in Kambosos head rent free[.] Boy bout to have a heart attack over what I said.” Kambosos was ready to take this online feud to the finish line, so he responded to this, writing, “I’ve been living rent free in your buck tooth head since I won the belts 5-1 coward haha.” Kambosos Jr. later shared a clip of Stevenson’s physical altercation with a group of people in Maimi in 2019, where he and David Grayton attacked and injured a man and a woman. The clip Kambosos shared showed Stevenson missing a wild haymaker and falling onto the floor. Kambosos wrote, “Kung Fu Shakur, nearly knocked himself. Wax on wax off bruv learn that s**t.”

In another clip Kambosos shared, Stevenson can be seen singing with a friend. Kambosos Jr. captioned this clip, writing, “Your kidding me!!! Sounds like s**t and why he getting on his knees, Fr that’s suss as. SS, Suspicious Shakur.”

It appears that the simplest of things on the internet can start huge online spats between boxers. While Stevenson is slated to fight former IBF super featherweight champion Joe Cordina of the United Kingdom on October 12th, George Kambosos Jr. has agreed to face Stevenson in 2025. It will be interesting to see whether the fighters will back up their trash talk. What do you think about this fight?
