Two-weight undisputed champion Terence Crawford might be on a collision course with Canelo Alvarez, but Gervonta Davis seems to be catching stray insults. Meanwhile, WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson receives all the praise. What’s this all about? Well, ‘Bud’ and the WBA lightweight champion have been beefing in recent days.

Both parties have thrown increasingly diabolical and devastating insults at each other over social media. However, Crawford took things a step further during a recent interview with The Ring, in which he discussed his highly anticipated skirmish with four-weight world champion Canelo Alvarez. The pair is slated to cross paths in September—should Canelo defeat IBF super middleweight champion William Scull.

The fight has taken over the boxing world as the biggest event of the year. Crawford believes it could be even bigger with a stacked undercard, even suggesting Gervonta Davis vs. Shakur Stevenson – though he doubts it’ll happen. “I don’t know [about the undercard]. It’s going to be crazy. It should be crazy,” Crawford told The Ring. “That would be dope. If Tank was not so cocky to be on a Terence Crawford undercard, that would be dope,” he added the line, taking shots at Davis. “But I don’t see Tank taking a backseat to any fighter because he will think it’s the Tank show. So I don’t know. But it should be a good undercard.”

‘Tank’ Davis is supposed to fight Lamont Roach Jr. in a rematch in June after their first fight came to a surprising majority draw. Nevertheless, ‘Bud’ Crawford didn’t shy away from providing his opinion on who is actually the best in the lightweight scene right now, obviously praising and siding with his friends. “I don’t think those guys can match what Shakur brings to the table. Shakur and [WBO lightweight champion] Keyshawn [Davis] are the two best in the division, hands down,” he noted. In the meantime, Stevenson seems to have shared his thoughts on Crawford’s proposal.

Shakur Stevenson rejects Gervonta Davis fight offer on Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford undercard

Crawford and Stevenson have been long-time buddies, having trained with each other in the past. The pair can even be seen praising and defending each other on social media. However, for a potential fight against Gervonta Davis, Shakur Stevenson doesn’t seem to be on board with Crawford’s plans to have it on the Canelo-Crawford undercard.
