It has all led up to this: less than 24 hours left in the Ryan Garcia vs. Devin Haney fight at Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York, live on DAZN. As the career rivals buckle up to put on an electrifying show, Shakur Stevenson has jumped in with his prediction of the fight on social media. And Stevenson foresees a brutal knockout, but the question is: Who’s going to sleep?
It’s not that long ago, when the Newark native was trying to replace Ryan Garcia, as the boxing world grew worried about Garcia’s mental health. Bill Haney even labelled Stevenson not good enough to fight his son. So, will Stevenson support Garcia? Or is he with most of the boxing world, who foresees Haney’s hand getting raised?

Turning to X hours earlier, Stevenson predicted a body-shot stoppage win for Haney. He wrote, “Body shot stoppage tomorrow, ni**a [is going to] throw up alcohol.” If Stevenson’s prediction comes to fruition, it would only be Garcia’s second such loss. The Victorville native danced the dance back in April against Gervonta Davis and something similar happened.

Despite leading the rounds on points, ‘Tank’ Davis’ body shot in the later rounds disrupted Garcia’s internal functions as he took the knee in the seventh round. However, Garcia is extremely confident going into this fight, especially since he has defeated Haney three times in the amateurs, although he has also lost three fights. Meanwhile, a former Olympian, whom Garcia knows quite well, has shared his prediction for the fight.

Former foe says all hopes aren’t lost for Ryan Garcia
Even though Shakur Stevenson is a seasoned boxer and his prediction has a certain weight to it, someone who has firsthand experience fighting Garcia can also accurately paint a picture of what could happen tonight. Speaking to Boxing Scene a couple of days ago, Luke Campbell, who handed Garcia his first knockdown, didn’t write off Garcia.
Campbell said, “People are talking like he’s already lost the fight and he’s been done—and done bad… If Ryan Garcia brings his A-game, at times he could be too much for Devin.” Campbell further highlighted Haney’s fight against Jorge Linares, claiming, “You never know—Garcia could do a job on him. I think Garcia, potentially, by knockout, or Haney can outbox him on points.”
