Floyd Mayweather is one of the best pound-for-pound boxers that the world has seen in the past couple of decades. Mayweather is the holder of the perfect record, 50-0. In his 50 fights, there were some of them where the majority thought he’d lose. But he proved his doubters wrong at every step and became the greatest boxer, this planet has ever witnessed. And recently, Shakur Stevenson spoke about how he was binge-watching Floyd Mayweather’s old fights and tweeted about his amazing discovery that he’d noticed during his fights.
Mayweather dominated the welterweight division till 2017, and he’s put down a lot of fighters. He’s known to be a great technician, a defensive boxer, and many people deemed the fighter to be a boring one. But over time, “Money” overcome every criticism and made a name for himself. Shakur Stevenson’s intriguing observation
Shakur Stevenson is a former boxing world champion, and that too in two different weight classes. He has many titles to his name. Stevenson had been the WBO champion in the featherweight as well as super featherweight divisions. And currently, he is considered the best super featherweight by ESPN and BoxRec.

Shakur took his observation to Twitter where he talked about how in many of Floyd Mayweather’s old fights, he felt that the commentators wanted Mayweather to lose.
Or, he speculated that the commentators actually couldn’t pick out the real skills of “Money”. Well, Stevenson is not totally wrong, when we see Mayweather’s history with some commentators in the past.

The most infamous moment of Mayweather’s life was when he had a face-to-face conversation inside the ring with Larry Merchant. As Merchant brought up his ‘sucker punch’ against Victor Ortiz, the conversation got heated up.

So, Mayweather made a claim that HBO should fire Larry Merchant as he does not know much about boxing. And Merchant replied that if he was younger he’d defeat Mayweather himself inside the ring.

Another memorable moment was when Mayweather was engaged in an exhibition match against Don Moore, where he even responded to the statements made by the commentators in between the fight. The moment went viral on the internet.
