Shakur Stevenson, having held multiple world champion titles in two weight classes, has achieved a remarkable feat for a 25-year-old. ESPN Ringside recently shared Stevenson’s desire for a bout against Haney in a Twitter post. There is no doubt the fight will get as much hype as Ryan Garcia vs. Gervonta Davis if it takes place. Notably, Stevenson has held the WBO featherweight title and the WBO super featherweight title.

Before turning pro, he represented the United States in the bantamweight division at the 2016 Summer Olympics, where he won a silver medal. Currently, he has been very keen on challenging Devin Haney who is the current undisputed lightweight champion. Haney has been considered one of the best lightweight boxers in the world.

According to ESPN Ringside, Shakur Stevenson is ready to fight Devin Haney for all the belts. Stevenson stated, “Honestly, after [Devin Haney’s] fight with Lomachenko, if he is willing to stay and I get a shortcut to getting all the belts at once, I’m down with that.” Despite acknowledging Haney as a “tough opponent,” Stevenson believes that he and Haney are destined to fight. “I feel like me and him was bound to fight and meant to fight. Whether it’s right now or later. … When the time is right, we gonna pop it off,” he added.

It also shows his respect for Haney as a fighter and his willingness to wait for the right time to face him inside the boxing ring. Shakur Stevenson warns Haney to fight or vacate lightweight titles

Earlier in February, Stevenson stated that Haney will have to face him this year. According to Stevenson, undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney will have no choice but to fight him or Gervonta Davis if he defeats Vasyl Lomachenko on May 20th or vacates his title. Stevenson stated that Haney’s father recently said that they were staying at 135 for all of 2023, and anyone who wants the four lightweight belts would have to go through them.

Meanwhile, Stevenson is scheduled to take on Shuichiro Yoshino in a 12-round bout on April 8th in Newark, New Jersey, U.S. at the Prudential Center.
