It’s fight night; is Terence Crawford going to ‘lose himself’ again? The welterweight champion will be knocking on the doors of history in a few hours. Making his debut in the light middleweight division, he squares off against Israil Madrimov for the WBA title. Given the roster of fights it features, many hail the fight card as one of the biggest of recent times. Since he is going to headline a grand event, why not make a grand entry?

Per the available reports, it looks like the first two division-undisputed champions among men might receive some help from fan Eminem. The rap legend will perform at the event before the headline fight with Madrimov. Last year, the epic clash against Errol Spence Jr. at the T-Mobile Arena saw Eminem walking in ‘Bud’ draped in a ‘fishing net’ with his hit single ‘Lose Yourself’ from the movie ‘8 Mile’. So ‘The Real Slim Shady’ hitmaker took time to evoke memories of that glorious day.

Hey champ, you ready to run it back tonight?” through an Instagram Story. Michael Benson shared a screenshot in a tweet. “Eminem with a message to Terence Crawford on Instagram today ahead of the Israil Madrimov fight…” his message read.

It’s a special ‘guest performance’ from Marshall Bruce Mathers III, known across the globe as Eminem. Last year, reportedly, the idea stemmed from a discussion between Crawford’s close friend and mentee, Shakur Stevenson. When the WBC lightweight champion asked him who would be walking him in the Spence Jr. match, ‘Bud’ couldn’t come up with a proper answer.

The Newark-born southpaw then reportedly suggested, “You know what I was thinking would be crazy s***? I think it would be dope to have Eminem walk me out or something like that.” He later added that, despite his preeminence in the hip-hop world, Eminem, in all likelihood, may not have ever walked-in a boxing champion.

Thankfully, Eminem too liked the idea and responded back that Terence Crawford was one of his all-time favorite boxers. Finally, when they walked in tandem, with Crawford looking regal in his custom-attire meant to taunt the ‘Big Fish’ Errol Spence Jr., to many fans, it was the ‘greatest ring walk’ of all time.

The Show Stopper and His Next Move

Terence Crawford is known for his impressive ring walk selections to mark his entrance. Who can forget Jay-Z’s ‘Encore’ when he went to fight Amir Khan five years ago? Or, ‘Blossom’ from E-40 for the Egidijus Kavaliauskas bout? In his big fight against ‘Showtime’ Shawn Porter, the Nebraskan switch-hitter relied on LL Cool J‘s ‘I’m Bad’.

But on the serious side, Terence Crawford is all serious when it comes to fighting. He has to win the fight. A statement win over Madrimov will go a long way in adding credible weight to his argument to claim a stake in his dream, the fight with Canelo Alvarez. In fact, many fans and experts look at his move to 154 pounds as a step in that direction. With His Excellency Turki Alalshikh also showing great interest in bringing about the Crawford-Alvarez fight, it will be a dream come true for many fans to witness such an epic showdown. Will ‘Slim Shady’ come back again for his friend?
