Back in July this year, when the fight got announced, the former cruiserweight champion gave his two cents on this match-up. He asserted that the fight does not have much value to add to the sport. In addition, he claimed that both combatants are competing against one another for financial incentives. According to Talksport, he stated, “It’s a cash grab from both ends.”

Thereafter, he gave Ngannou no chance of defeating Fury inside the ring and thought that ‘The Gypsy King,’ would win inside a round. He added, “I genuinely believe Tyson Fury, if he chooses to, could get rid of Francis Ngannou in a round.” Meanwhile, Froch shared a similar opinion about the fight as him. A month ago, the 46-year-old boxer asserted that the bout may be a massive spectacle and generate money but he is not interested. This led to a hostile response from Fury.
