Sean Garcia throwing up in the corner—sign of weakness or just an off night?

Although Sean Garcia failed to make the official weight for the fight against Amado Vargas, nothing debarred the match from taking place. However, just a day before the fight in Honda Center, Anaheim, Sean went through an exhausting process in his attempt to cut weight. Probably for the same reason he struggled against Vargas in the ring. Meanwhile, the former WBO Super Featherweight champion, Jamel Herring felt like he saw Sean Garcia throw up during the match.

Well, Vargas had completely overwhelmed Sean Garcia and one could see the latter’s fatigue. While there are several techniques Vargas himself needs to correct, he hurt Garcia with his painful body shots when the latter was against the ropes. And despite Sean trying to push himself, his labor remained fruitless of gain as his punches were deficient in power.

In the fourth round, Vargas dropped Sean on the floor. And then in the sixth round, he rained punches on Garcia from all angles and debarred the latter from breathing until the official waved his hands. At this, as something peculiar caught Jamel Herring’s eyes, he asked, “Did Garcia throw up in the corner?” He then shed light on Garcia’s unsuccessful yet strenuous weight cut.

I’m telling y’all now. He had a bad weight cut and is feeling the effects of it right now,” Jamel Herring added, critically investigating Sean’s performance. However, after the fight was over, Sean Garcia did not complain about cutting weight. Instead, he held his nerves accountable. Here is what Sean Garcia thinks went wrong for himself.

After Errol Spence Jr. lost to Terence Crawford, the former publicly acknowledged that the weight cut was too much for his body to endure. And honestly, ‘The Truth’ looked worn out when he stepped inside the ring. So yes, we have seen weight cutting having a negative impact on someone’s performance in the past. However, Sean Garcia did not blame the weight-cutting process. Instead, he said, “It was a great fight. I mean it was amazing. I got to say the nerves got to me like crazy.

I’ve never fought in front of like all those people. I fought under my brother’s card, but I was in the beginning. So, it wasn’t mine. This was my moment [and] I was scared. I was just overwhelmed with everything,” said Sean Garcia whose defeat had been predicted by Curmel Moton. “The ref thought I had enough. I mean it happens, he was the better man tonight,” he concluded, hoping for a rematch.
