This weekend, the star lightweight Garcia registered a promising win over Javier Fortuna at 140 lbs. He dominated the showdown by dropping the Dominican boxer thrice in the entire slugfest. He threw some unanswered hooks that finally stopped the former champ in the 6th round under the lights of Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
After winning the battle, which was considered the toughest, Garcia inched closer to taking a shot against his heated rival, Gervonta Davis. This victory has surely uplifted Garcia’s self-confidence. He did not shy from announcing the name he wanted next at 140 lbs.
