During his fight against Oscar Duarte, Ryan Garcia shocked the boxing world as he attempted a shoulder roll in the ring. While the move did not yield positive results, ‘KingRy’ seems to have developed an attachment to the technique. Likewise, in his latest training video, the 25-year-old was seen practicing the move ahead of the fight against Devin Haney on April 20th.

However, Garcia’s trainer Derrick James, who disapproved of the technique, did not look happy. On that note, after the circulation of the clip, several fans reacted to a concerned Derrick James having trouble digesting Garcia’s routine.

AKHi TV uploaded the latest training video of Ryan Garcia on YouTube. While Derrick James is sitting on the mat while keeping an eye on Garcia’s movement, ‘KingRy’ is seen practicing shadowboxing in slow motion. Throwing body shots, Garcia is seen cutting angles and changing levels with his punches. At one point, the 25-year-old even attempts the shoulder roll made popular by Floyd Mayweather. It is at this particular point that Garcia’s trainer Derrick James puts his hand on his head, looking concerned and upset.

On that note, reacting to the clip, a fan said, “DERRICK IS THINKING BOY DEVIN ABOUT TO WHOOP YO GOOFY A** BUT IT’S ALL GOOD AS LONG AS MY CHECK CLEARS WE GOOD LMAO.”

On the other hand, a fan claimed Garcia would “sink Derrick into depression.

Similarly, one fan argued that this would be James’ “last fight coaching“.

Meanwhile, in the comment section of the video, one wrote, “Derrick James thinking I’m get pay & get the hell away from this kid.

Finally, one commented that Ryan should “focus more on perfecting his style.

In this context, it must be mentioned that Garcia’s trainer Derrick James has never been a fan of Ryan’s shoulder roll.
