Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney will go toe-to-toe on April 20 at Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York. It’s one of the most anticipated fights of the year, but a boxing fan, Ray Jackson, known for his love towards Gervonta Davis, sparked debate when he claimed the upcoming fight wasn’t selling seats. So, the Victorville native hopped on social media, threatening to slap him for spreading fake news.
Earlier today, Jackson shared a screenshot of the number of tickets available on Ticket Master for the Haney-Garcia fight on X (formerly Twitter). It showed most of the seats were unsold, as Jackson wrote, “[Man], we are 13 days away from #HaneyGarcia and the TICKETS are not moving dawg. They gotta cut the prices in half at this point.” This seems to have enraged Garcia, who responded with a tweet of his own a few hours later.

Responding to Jackson’s claim, Garcia wrote, “I know it sucks to have another man’s d*** in your mouth, Ray, but just wait till we walk with 10 [million] plus and you go give yourself carpal tunnel [syndrome] tweeting away. After this fight, [I will] slap you with some caviar in your mouth, clout chasing w****.”

It’s worth mentioning that, despite what Garcia claims, a huge number of seats remain unsold. That’s not to say tickets aren’t selling, but as of today, a lot of tickets are still available, which may get sold out as the fight inches closer. Moreover, while Garcia claims he and Haney will make $10 million plus, the purse split for the fight has been revealed on social media.
Devin Haney vs. Ryan Garcia purse split: Who’s getting more money?
In a time in boxing where making the best fight the best is nearly impossible, Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney seemed to have changed how things are done. And for that, both fighters are expected to make a lot of money, Garcia more so than Haney, however. TalkSport editor Michael Benson recently shared the same on X.
Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20th is a 55/45 purse split in favour of Garcia, Devin's father/trainer Bill Haney has revealed. Devin agreed to take the smaller split despite being the WBC super-lightweight world champion in order to make the fight happen. [@WsbRemy]

Whether the Haney vs. Garcia fight sells out all the tickets can only be determined properly when the fight takes place. However, there’s no denying that the fight’s close proximity to other big events may cause it to sell less than what Garcia would expect. Do you think the Garcia-Haney fight will be a sold-out affair?
