Ryan Garcia is one of boxing’s biggest names, both inside and outside of the ring. The undefeated Interim champion is famous for his social media posts, as well as his incredible skill within the ropes. However, fans may not get to witness the latter for a long time with his latest revelation.
As Garcia is one fight away from becoming a world champion, he is on the verge of fulfilling his boxing dream. However, the undefeated boxer already has his eyes set on his next move and has reiterated his desire to retire at 26.

The 21-0 boxer spoke to Ben Askren on his Podcast, ‘Fierce Talk,’ and revealed why he is retiring so early. He said, “Hey let me tell you something Ben, I’ve never said this on air. But after, I’ve always said I’m going to retire at 26. Everybody looks at me [like I’m] crazy right. But I’m doing it, to go into the MMA ring.”
This comment will shock the boxing world as Garcia would leave the sport just as he’s entering his peak. However, this statement showed the American’s confidence in achieving everything he wants to before venturing into another field in his prime.

Ryan Garcia asks for Ben Askren’s help
This comment from Garcia could draw criticism from fans. The Interim champion is famous for his clickbait actions on social media, and many critical fans will claim this is yet another attempt to gain publicity. However, if Garcia is serious, he will have a lot to learn.

As a result, the undefeated champion has reserved the services of Ben Askren. He said, “So I’m going to need you to teach me some wrestling techniques before I start even trying to dive in there. So a little wrestling and then we’ll go from there, so…”

This comment showed that ‘KingRy’ is in fact serious about a switch to MMA. And if he can pick up something from a former MMA champion, it would be a scary prospect. However, only time will tell if the switch really happens and if Garcia ropes in ‘Funky’ Askren to help him.
