American star boxer Ryan Garcia is in a whole host of trouble, but he doesn’t shy away from picking up beef with others. In a similar situation, the Victorville native seems to have shared a sparring footage of himself and Blair Cobbs. The duo go way back and some sources even suggest they used to be friends. Having fought under the Golden Boy Promotions’ banner in the past, Cobbs had taken offence with Garcia supporting Adrien Broner.

Earlier this month, Cobbs squares off against Broner at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Hollywood, for a ten round bout, which turned out to be his breakthrough win via unanimous decision. This win seems to have given him quite the confidence boost, as a fight against his former friend doesn’t seem impossible to him anymore. So, in a latest tweet from Garcia, he shared the sparring footage between them, where Garcia seems to have knocked down Cobbs.

While the Victorville native awaits his trial with New York State Athletic Commission for the positive doping test results during the Devin Haney fight earlier this year, he landed himself in more trouble after getting arrested for causing damages worth $15,000 in a Beverly Hills Hotel. And the dust hadn’t even settled from that drama when Garcia took to X, sharing the clip in question.

He captioned it, “Two tone I told you I knocked out Blair in sparring”. Meanwhile, in the clip stitched together with several sparring sessions, Garcia can be seen dropping his opponents, but the initial part of the clip is the one featuring Garcia and Cobbs, something Garcia highlighted on Instagram as well. Garcia wrote, “Watch the clip in the [beginning]. That is Blair running into a hook in the first round of sparring”.

Interestingly, Cobbs didn’t deny the knockdown, but seems to have revealed some secrets of his own.

After defeating Adrien Broner, Cobbs showed respect for the former champion, but for Ryan Garcia, ‘The Flair’ didn’t have any such emotions. And why would he? Garcia was cheering for Broner from the very beginning on social media, which resulted in a fight call out as well from Cobbs. Some would even say Cobbs was crushed after learning his friend was rooting against him.

The Don King Promoted boxer told Boxing Scene that besides fighting under Golden Boy Promotions together in the past, they have a long history together—history in the ring! “He wants to talk about, ‘Oh, yeah, well, I knocked you down in sparring,’ well, I also made you quit in sparring. Yeah, I got knocked down. I got up and made you quit. I made you turn into a b****”, Cobbs said. The Broner fight was Cobbs’ first after two long years of layoff, and this win against Broner could be his ticket to facing elites like Garcia.

Having said that, it’s pretty clear nothing can stop Ryan Garcia from feuding with his peers, even if they used to be friends in the past. However, it’s yet to be seen whether this squabble with Blair Cobbs can turn into a bout. Do you think they should fight?
