Devin Haney seems to be on a roll right now even after going through a pretty big crisis with Ryan Garcia from a couple of months back. ‘The Dream’ has not stopped dreaming big and is currently training in full swing for his next fight which has three possible opponents. However, the shadow of what happened with Garcia is going to take some time to drift away because it is still fresh in people’s minds.
Amid his training video with Floyd Mayweather’s ex-coach Jones, fans have commented on his fighting prowess and some even mentioned the huge incident that happened between him and Garcia. For the unversed, there is a massive rivalry between ‘King Ry’, Devin Haney, and his father. The whole ordeal started with the duo clashing in New York in April where Garcia won but with a twist of fate, the fight was a no-contest. Why? Because ‘King Ry’ was found to have popped for Ostarine multiple times.
Due to this, Haney filed a lawsuit against him and demanded payment for fraud and breach of contract since PEDs are not allowed. Now how does Devin Haney’s father come into this? Well, because the Mexican decided to file a counterclaim against the former WBC super lightweight champion and his father Bill Haney.

Even though Garcia was accused of PEDs after his win against Haney, fans are still holding on to the loss despite the no contest. Boxing fans are still giving the 26-year-old a hard time after his loss and it seems like they will not let him forget that. On the other hand, Haney is already facing a counter lawsuit from Garcia where the latter wants $7.5 million in damages.
After seeing the training footage of Haney practicing his punches, one fan said, “Damn, at this rate Devin will be able to knock out a bantamweight [in] early 2028,” while another claimed, “They finally teaching him the old school chopping right hand. He’s only used the straight right hand, I can’t wait to see how he approaches future fights stylistically.”
Another follower was excited for his return which might be against Alberto Puello, Liam Paro, or Ryan Garcia. On the same note, they said, “Former Undisputed Champion Devin The Dream Haney!!!” Another fan pointed out Haney’s change in fighting stance saying, “I see Devin has finally understood the fundamentals of pivoting to display most of the power.”

One netizen motivated the fighter and wrote, “Keep jabbing champ,” while another follower gave a scathing remark saying, “Devin can only knock Devin out with that punch. Because he has no defense.” Another follower pointed out Haney’s lawsuit against Garcia after he lost to the latter and they wrote, “Devin “I’m gonna sue fighters who beat me” Haney.”
The former lightweight undisputed champion’s, lawyer Pat English considered Garcia’s counterclaim as being ‘silly’ suggesting that it would get thrown out in court. But it seems like this whole ordeal will take time to be thrown out of people’s minds. The fight between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia has moved away from the ring to the courtroom and it might take more than just 12 rounds in a boxing ring to declare a winner. Nevertheless, since Haney is back in training, who do you want him to fight next?
