Crossover boxing is rage and Ryan Garcia has jumped on the trend. The American boxer believes crossover boxers have the talent. But do they have what it takes to beat a professional boxer? He certainly believes so, and he even banks his faith in one particular American influencer to knock out former champion Rolando Romero.
‘KingRy,’ who has been at odds with Deen the Great, is currently backing him and his skills up to go toe-to-toe with ‘Rolly’ Romero and even edge him out. However, this is not the first time he has mocked Romero’s credentials. What did the 25-year-old boxer say?

In a clip uploaded by Overtime Boxing, Garcia could be seen hanging out with Deen the Great. Notably, the latter is the current reigning Misfits Boxing lightweight champion. Nurideen Shahid Shabazz, aka Deen the Great, ventured into boxing in 2020 and is currently up 4-0. Garcia said, “I think Deen could actually beat Rollies though and I actually want that fight in April.”

“Bro, he is gonna kill Rollies. That part. A world champion, right? Quotation mark. A world champion. This motherf***er gonna knockout f***ers downright. Deen is a problem right. So influencer, right, quotation mark, knocks out Rollies,“ the Victorville native added.
While Deen the Great has been a constant presence on Misfits cards, he has only one fully pro-sanctioned fight under his belt, against Walid Sharks in 2022, a third-round TKO. Interestingly, Deen the Great called out Garcia, Gervonta Davis, and Shakur Stevenson after he defeated Walid Sharks in a rematch last October. Likewise, Garcia, at 24-1, has questioned his skill set in the past but has grown fond of him recently and now favors him to bag a win against ‘Rolly’ Romero.

The lightweight boxer blasted ‘Rolly Romero’ when he dropped the fight and the title to Isaac Cruz on March 30. He has not forgiven him for leaving him stranded as Romero opted to fight ‘Pitbull’. Garcia declared, “Remember when Rollies thought he pulled a fast one on me by choosing to fight pitbull the last second and then proceeded to get knocked out by a 125 pounder.”
“In all seriousness rolly needs to do influencer boxing and I’m not kidding I think Deen beats him,” Garcia continued. It remains to be seen what course Romero takes next and whether he ends up fighting Deen the Great in the future.
