Further revelations on the Ryan Garcia story appear. During a conversation, the young boxer from California apparently reported that he is no longer with long-time legal advisor Lupe Valencia. He shared some reasons for taking the definitive measure. Boxing insider Rick Glaser also confirmed the same.

Ryan Garcia is currently out of boxing. He won’t be back until he serves the mandatory 1-year suspension. The New York State Athletic Commission’s decision followed test results that confirmed the presence of banned PEDs in his system. He faces the threat of further legal action from a gravely hurt Devin Haney. His conversation with Bill Haney spilled some beans on how he accessed the contaminated supplements. In a latest discussion, he further disclosed Lupe Valencia’s alleged role as facilitating a meeting with the person supplying the said supplements.

It was during the conversation with FightHype that Ryan Garcia revealed that he had terminated Lupe Valencia’s services. “I fired Lupe…. Lupe is gone …. like two days ago, I was about to say… yes, I fired him.….finally got that devil out of there,” he said. So the conversation started when the reporter asked him how he and the person named ‘Scooter’ connected. Fans might remember that during the conversation with Bill Haney, ‘KingRy’, shared how he received the supplements that contained the ostarine.

After Garcia revealed that he had fired Valencia, the reporter continued, “So Lupe hooked you up with Scooter.” The response was, ‘Yeah.” The development seemingly surprised the reporter, who asked how it all happened. Ryan Garcia told him that Lupe Valencia might not have been a bad person. However, it appears (according to Garcia) that the legal advisor entertained the notion that he was as smart as Al Haymon.

But the fact remains: Ryan Garcia insisted that the PBC boss actually controlled Lupe Valencia. Perhaps through the lawyer, he could put some checks on the young boxer. “He’s Al Haymon’s puppet; that’s cool, yeah, and I know Al Hamon told him, Oh, I control Ryan through through Lupe I already know the game. I don’t gotta sign Ryan. I got Lupe controlling Ryan; now you don’t, Al Boy,said KingRy.

Over to Rick Glaser. The New York State Boxing Hall of Fame (NYSBHOF) inductee tweeted that Ryan Garcia has sacked Lupe Valencia as his attorney. A classic Glaser observation followed: “An attorney that actually thinks he’s a #Boxing guy.” The veteran boxing matchmaker didn’t stop there.

A pat on the back for ‘KingRy’

He called Lupe Valencia an ‘Al Haymon Stooge’. Then he repeated that the former barely knows anything about boxing. Rick Glaser, in fact, expressed his surprise at how Ryan Garcia and the lawyer got together in the first place. “How Valencia originally hooked up with Ryan was very dubious & supposedly unethical for an attorney, & that should have been the tip-off for Ryan!” The New York-based boxing insider said.

He mentioned that, in all probability, Ryan Garcia must feel relieved now that Lupe Valencia has departed from his camp. Needless to say, Glaser’s post has been attracting followers like bees to honey. One of the users mentioned what Oscar De La Hoya had said about Lupe Valencia. If fans remember, following his loss to Gervonta Davis, a rift between Ryan Garcia and his promoters—the Golder Boy Promotions—followed.

A back-and-forth ensued on Twitter. fed up with some of the charges leveled at him, the Olympic gold medalist then shot back at ‘KingRy’, saying, “The blame for your loss is on YOU and your “advisor” Lupe (Guadalupe Valencia). He is the only one who pushed you to accept that insane rehydration clause, and that is the reason you lost. Man up. Own that.” It seems Rick Glaser completely concurs with ‘The Golden Boy’s views on the legal advisor.
