After several random tweets on X [as is often the case with him], Ryan Garcia, announced on June 19th that he had officially retired from boxing. At that time, although a certain section of the boxing world was fuming over Garcia’s failed VADA test, the New York State Athletic Commission had yet to officially label Haney vs. Garcia as a no-contest. But now that the NYSAC imposed a one-year ban on ‘KingRy’ besides overturning the initial decision of Garcia vs. Haney, ‘KingRy’ revealed the real reason behind his retirement.

On the 19th of June, Ryan Garcia mourned on X that he was being hit with everything. Why? The 25-year-old announced that while he was going through a divorce, Devin Haney asked for Garcia’s victory to be “taken away.” In addition, having stated that his supplements were “tainted,” Garcia sounded very heartbroken as he was “being sued.” So, everything overwhelmed Garcia and the boxer thought he was “done with this game.” But now, Garcia’s interaction with TMZ implies he is far from being done with boxing!

In the wake of NYSAC banning ‘KingRy’ for a year, through an official statement, Team Ryan Garcia declared the boxer “never intentionally” consumed a substance banned by VADA. In that sense, Garcia, who feels he delivered a “masterclass” performance against Haney, feels offended by the NYSAC ruling. Therefore, to counter the suspension imposed, Garcia wanted to hang his gloves for the time being. “I’m retiring for a year,” he told TMZ Sports.

So they don’t get the [satisfaction] for suspending me cause it’s bull. I never took steroids in my life. They can all s**k weiners,” he elaborated. But, what does Ryan Garcia want to do for a year? In yet another surprising statement, he revealed that he would like to fight this UFC fighter inside the cage!

Ryan Garcia aspires to fight UFC Bantamweight champion

While Devin Haney celebrates the decision by NYSAC, the official statement from Garcia’s camp brands ‘KingRy’ as “a victim of substance contamination.” Besides, the official declaration argued that it was not in Garcia’s nature to cheat. However, the statement cannot alter the decision by the NYSAC and Garcia must remain outside the ring for a year. But, since he cannot enter the ring, Garcia feels it is high time he experiences the cage. So, he said, “I like ‘Suga’ Sean [O’Malley] cause he defended me.

But if he really wants to run it in the UFC, I’ll run it. Or bare knuckle. S***, I’m ready to fight anyone at this point,” declared Garcia confidently with his daughter on his shoulders. With that said, what do you think of Garcia’s retirement? Would you like to see him in the UFC? Let us know in the comments below.
